So two weeks ago one of the biggest music festivals took place in South Africa. On the line-up (if you missed it), Oasis, Snow Patrol, Zebra & Giraffe, Cassette and Panic At The Disco. I got to chat to Panic’s front man, Brendon Urie as part of the Von Vodcast. Check it out below.
Now in addition to fronting the American band, Brendon has been involved in a really cool project for Coca-Cola. He, together with the likes of Cee-Lo Green, Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump, Travis McCoy from Gym Class Heroes a and Grammy nominated star Janelle Monaethe recorded a track called “Open Happiness”. It will accompany two other tracks and commercials in the “Happiness Factory” series. The song is aimed at creating a spirit of positivity, optimism and fun and a portion of the sales from the record will go to Coca-Cola’s ‘Live Positively’ campaign. Here is a video of the stars in studio.. really cool:
Brendon’s a really cool dude and watching them play live for the first time was wicked too… new found respect for Panic At The Disco
