The Social Network no.1 at the Box Office, gets Oscar buzz

A couple of years ago, Justin Timberlake brought Sexy Back when he released his Grammy/ Platinum and all-round awesome album, FutureSex/LoveSounds. Now the star has seemingly taken a step back from the music scene and jumped full throttle into acting. His new film, The Social Network is sitting at number one on the US Box Office charts, having taken over $23million this weekend alone. The film might be fresh on the movie scene, but already it’s garnering Oscar buzz. JT in particular who plays the role of Sean Parker. When asked by the Chicago Tribune about the Oscar talk, the star said, ” That’s very kind, but I don’t know how to respond to that. I’m physically uncomfortable with this right now. I just feel like there’s nothing I can say. At the risk of sounding cliche, there was a reason why I have always wanted to get into film, but an award was never a part of it. After all, I started off doing sketch comedy and music on a television show on the Disney Channel when I was a kid.”

Don’t be so humble and modest JT, you’re good… go with it!

Just reading Parker’s Wiki entry and how he was forced to leave the multimillion dollar corporate that is Facebook because of being in possession of cocaine in 2004.

Here’s a brief synopsis of the film:
On a fall night in 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg sits down at his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea. In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication. A mere six years and 500 million friends later, Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history… but for this entrepreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications.
