Google+ Hangouts with BBA’s Neyll and Biguesas

On Sunday evening, Big Brother The Chase housemates Neyll and Biguesas were evicted from the BBA house. Were they upset? Did they leave their strategies a little too late? How were the feeling about their fellow housemates nominating them? Check out my Google+ Hangouts with Angola‘s Neyll and Biguesas below:

Bonang secures a deal with Revlon

BonangAdvert[4]

Much respect goes out to the incredible, Bonang Matheba. She is by far the biggest celebrity in South Africa. She’s done it all, radio, TV, web, print. Brands continue to use her to grow their respective brands and in turn, the Bonang brand continues to grow bigger, better and brighter. It’s incredible to watch such a young, talented woman score all these major deals and accolades and the latest one she can add to her name is with beauty house Revlon. Matheba was named as the South African ambassador yesterday, joining the likes of Halle Berry, Emma Stone and Olivia Wilde.

Big up to Matheba! See the full press release below:

Spud 2 interviews tomorrow

Tomorrow I’ll be hanging out and chatting to the likes of John Cleese, Troye Sivan and a few of the other stars from the hugely successful, Spud. The film is based on the novel by John van de Ruit, which still happens to be one of my favourite reads. I guess when you go to an all boys school, you recall all the memories and experiences you had and we’ve all been awkward teenagers (well for those of you older than 18) so most of us can relate to a story like this. I thoroughly enjoyed the second film, more than the first actually, so tomorrow should be good. The acting is good, it’s funny, serious, awkward and really just an enjoyable film. More on the interviews in the week leading up to the release next week.

If you have any questions for these guys, holler.

The Great Gatsby soundtrack

timthumb.phpI’m a little embarrassed to admit this, being an entertainment journalist and all, but I haven’t seen Baz Luhrmann‘s The Great Gatsby yet. I’ve heard mixed reports, mostly positive but some weren’t so fond of it. I guess movie watching is very subjective and what I like, you might not enjoy. That’s the way of the world I guess. I will watch it though and I will share my thoughts when I get around to it. One thing I feel most of us will love is the soundtrack… WOW! Jigga, Bey. Gotye, Jack White, Sia, Florence + The Machine and Lana Del Rey just to mention a few of the many artists on this record. The album is co-produced by Anton Monsted, who served as executive music supervisor too. He, together will Luhrmann and Jay-Z, have created something I can only describe as a masterpiece in itself.

I’ve had brief listens to all of the tracks and I’m absolutely loving them. As for the ones I’ve got on repeat? Tjo, hotness. What I love about this album is that it’s got that swing, jazzy vibe but it’s funked up with some electro thrown in there. Rocking! Here is the official track listing:

1.   100$ Bill – JAY Z

2.   Back To Black - Beyoncé x André 3000

3.   Bang Bang - will.i.am

4.   A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got) – Fergie + Q Tip + GoonRock

5.   Young And Beautiful – Lana Del Rey

6.   Love Is The Drug - Bryan Ferry with The Bryan Ferry Orchestra

7.   Over The Love - Florence + The Machine

8.   Where The Wind Blows – Coco O. of Quadron

9.   Crazy in Love - Emeli Sandé and The Bryan Ferry Orchestra

10.  Together – The xx

11.  Hearts A Mess - Gotye

12.  Love Is Blindness – Jack White

13.  Into the Past – Nero

14.  Kill and Run - Sia

If you’re an Amy Winehouse fan, I’d love to hear your thoughts on Beyonce and Andre 3000′s version of Back to Black. I love it, but share your thoughts below.

Lead SA calls on South Africans to pray for Madiba

Let’s pray for Madiba

LEAD SA has called for a national day of prayer for the speedy recovery of former President Nelson Mandela.
95-year-old Madiba was admitted to a Pretoria hospital earlier today for a recurring lung infection. The Presidency has described his condition as “serious but stable”.
Lead SA has called on the nation and the world to “pray for Tata’s speedy recovery. Madiba is always in our hearts and minds and during this time of illness, he continues to be in our thoughts. We wish him and the family well.”
“Wherever you are, say a prayer.
“We also call our religious leaders to have special prayers in churches, mosques, synagogues and temples.
“Let’s have a national day of prayer today and tomorrow,” added Lead SA.
