There are a lot of hot tracks on radio and TV at the moment and one of those is the one you can see above. It’s the new track from J Cole and it features Miguel. Man oh man I’m loving it. And judging by early reviews and word online, 2013 is shaping up to be a good year for J. The star will release his second album, “Born Sinner” on the 18th of this month. Will it hit number one like his debut? Most probably… I’m just saying. Although… Continue reading →
Justin Timberlake has revealed his album cover for The 20/20 Experience and it’s looking great. I must admit, when I first saw it, it reminded me a little bit of Christina Aguilera’s Bionic album cover from 2010. Just a little bit of randomness for you on this Thursday morning.
The hype, the build up to this release is just awesome and I really think it’s going to be an incredible offering (if you’re a JT fan that is). He also revealed the track listing for the album:
1. Pusher Love Girl
2. Suit & Tie
3. Don’t Hold The Wall
4. Stawberry Bubblegum
5. Tunnel Vision
6. Spaceship Coupe
7. That Girl
8. Let The Groove Get in
10. Blue Ocean Floor.
Catch Justin performing at the Grammys this coming Sunday/ Monday morning and diarise these dates 18/19th of March for the release of The 20/ 20 Experience.
One of the slowest launches ever known to man kind, but it has finally happened. iTunes has officially arrived in South Africa. This is a good day for music lovers and a great day for local musicians. Other music stores have tried but failed dismally, but with the the Apple name behind it and the success that is the American music store, iTunes SA is bound to do well. Plus the music is very well priced.
Idols winner, Khaya Mthethwa’s debut album, For You is retailing at R89.00. If you’re not into the whole album, you can purchase a single, or four at just R8.99. Very, very affordable. Their music catalogue isn’t limited to just local artists. You can grab Rihanna‘s new album, Unapologetic, Pink’s The Truth About Love and more too.
At this stage you can only download music, but you know what we’re like. As soon as we get something, we’ll want more. So I have no doubt in my mind that they’re looking at getting all the latest series, movies and more. Stay tuned for that.
In support of their brand new album, Naked, the guys from Kinky Robot are on the road promoting the new material. If you’re looking for some good SA music, be sure to check them out in your part of the country soon. Details above.
It’s about damn time. Bruno Mars is back and ready to rock and roll with the release of his new album. The Grammy winner released his brand new single, Locked Out of Heaven” yesterday via his Youtube account (www.youtube.com/brunomars). It’s taken off his forthcoming album, “Unorthodox Jukebox”, which is due for release on the 10th of December. The first big bit of promotion he’ll be doing is on SNL. He’ll be hosting and performing on the hit show on the 20th of October (to be aired in SA on the 27th). He’s also on the cover of Billboard Magazine, which you will see on the right. Log on to Billboard.com for more.
Just a few other tidbits on the album- it was executive produced by The Smeezingtons. Other production credits include Jeff Bhasker (fun., Kanye West, Jay-Z), Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse, Lil Wayne, Black Lips) and Diplo (M.I.A, Usher). More info will be released in the weeks leading up to the album. For more info though go to www.brunomars.com.
Justin Bieber’s new single Boyfriend is set to break records and hit the top spot on charts and in countries around the globe. The video hasn’t been released yet, but here is a twenty second teaser. Check it out. The video will be out soon.
The Queen of Pop is all set to release her new album, MDNA. The album will be available as of the 23rd of the month. We’ve already heard the first single off that album called “Give Me All Your Luvin’,” which features Nicki Minaj and MIA. Did the track do as well as she hoped? I’m not so sure about that one, but it has certainly grown on me, that’s for sure. I suppose constant radio airplay can do that to one. Here is the tracklisting from that album:
» Girls Gone Wild » Gang Bang » I’m Addicted » Some Girls » I Don’t Give A » Turn Up the Radio » Give Me All Your Luvin’ » B-day Song » Superstar » I’m a Sinner » Masterpiece » Falling Free » Love Spent » I F—ed Up » Beautiful Killer
The second single to be released off that album is called “Girl Gone Wild”. The video is set to make its debut soon, but if you can’t wait that long, check out the video teaser below:
One of the big songs of 2012 so far happens to be David Guetta‘s new track with Sia. It’s called Titanium and it is but #winning. Having said that I bet you couldn’t imagine a slower version of this club banger right? Well turns out there is one, and it sounds fantastic. It’s by a guy name Collin McLoughlin. Have a listen above and let me know what you think.
22nd of May is the first big release of 2012 in my opinion. It’s the date that Grammy Award-winning singer John Mayer will release his new album, which is entitled Born and Raised. The first single off that album, Shadow Days will officially be released on the 6th, but it has already hit the Net. Have a listen here.
The album sees Mayer teaming up with Don Was on a production level. Was is famous for his work with Rolling Stones, B.B. King and Bonnie Raitt among others. Below is the track listing for Born and Raised.
Queen of California
The Age of Worry
Speak for Me
Something Like Olivia
Born & Raised
If I Ever Get Around To Living
Love is a Verb
Walt Grace’s Submarine Test, January 1967
Whiskey, Whiskey, Whiskey
A Face To Call Home
Born & Raised (Reprise)
On the album Mayer has also enlisted the help of many other talented musicians, who will be hitting the road with him as part of his 18-date spring tour in support of the new album. That tour kicks on the 9th of April in Bloomington, IN. He then moves onto venues in Detroit, Providence, Buffalo, Memphis and Kansas City. For more dates and times, visit his official site here.
