I’m in love

But it aint what you think… My girl Ashlee Simpson is back in the USA, recovering after an incident in Tokyo. Come to Aspen Ash..No but in all seriousness, get well Ms. Simpson. Hey her new video is awesome too- “L.O.V.E”. Watch out, You’re all gonna L.O.V.E it!!!

Everything is good on this side. Nic- I finally got my snowboard, so Thursday is the day I take on the slopes! Got the first pay cheque, and lets just say when one converts back to Rands… It’s awesome, but for now it’s Dollars. Hope everyone is good and well. Leave me comments people, let me know how y’all are… Good stuff, ok bye

Awards


AWARD season has popped up again, and this time it’s the chance of the film and television stars. The 63rd annual Golden Globe will take place on the 16th of January 2006 in Beverly Hills. The nominees were announced yesterday… My predictions:
1. Charlize… AGAIN. This lady is top class
2. Heath Ledger. This Ozzie lad is expected to take the Golden Globe. Should he win that, he’s definately in the running for the Oscar. Check out the film Brokeback Mountain
3. ABC‘s Lost and Desperate Housewives are both in there. Tricky- the both rock
4. Tsotsi- GO SA again. So in two award shows, South Africa or South Africans have been nominated. Well done to Ladysmith Black Mambazo again for their second Grammy nomination. Perhaps they’ll notch up their second award…

We’ll have to wait and see on January 16th. PS Work is sooooooo slow again. Jen have a look at the comment under the Usher post to see a short list of things to do in Joburg… Later

Slow

Hi everyone hope you are all keeping well. On Saturday there was a live band playing, very good! I did however miss half of it cause I finished work late. The concert was in the street, and that was followed by fireworks… naturally this idiot forgot his camera at home, but I’ll organise something. So these people staying in the lodge we’re at have become like our friends. They’re older… Dane is 44, and retired!! So after the concert we bumped into them at the beer tent and he decided it was time to buy us drinks, score! Peach schnapps..mmm. We wante4d to go back to the foreigners pub, but it was way too full so we went to a place called the Little Nell, snazy! And again Dane bought us drinks… by this stage I’m slightly spinning cause of lack of booze consumption and altitute, always good to blame the altitute! We even got Amstel there, nice. Our pub crawl crew landed up at a place called Belly Up, Nic you’d enjoy dude: live music, great sound, good vibe and hot ladies… I landed up buying a cd, just because the lead singer was hot

Sunday morning- HANGING, HUNGOVER + WORK= NOT COOL.

At work again today, this time in a different town, like 20 mins outside Aspen, called Snowmass. Very nice, but damn this day is slow. Two customers so far, and it’s 13h00 already. Oh ya, so apparently Jim Carey and Renee Zellweger are in town… stay tuned. Hello to Debs, haven’t had snow tasting day yet… I’ll get there. Jen T congrats for honours my friend, you’re on for next year… definately k. The rest of y’all be well and good!

Who’s here?

It’s Saturday the 10th of December 2005. I’m in Aspen, Colorado, The United States of America…DUH! So I’m working again today, hoping to get paid at some stage… cash slowly but surely dwindling. These people walk into the shops, very well presented…look like typical rich Aspinites. But the thing is, is that they’re speaking Afrikaans. So i’m like hell yeah, South Africans. definately the more wealthier type though. I ask the one woman where they’re from and she says Cape town, so blah blah blah they’re here to ski. Shame times are hard. But then her friend walks in and I’m like hang on… who is this lady, very familiar. Definately some sort of celeb back home. Just couldn’t quite figure it out… so boo hoo hoo.

But then I go on my lunch break… at half3, headon over to the supermarket and there in DAMN Aspen stands Francois Pienaar, WIFE (click click) and family. I suppose after his hard work, but unlucky failure in trying to get the 2011 rugby world cup back in SA, he deserves a good old break. But DAMN in Aspen, like one of the most expensive little towns in the entire States. I’ll try stalk him and take photos k.

There is a concert tonight, in celebration of the Woman’s World Cup… dunno who the band is but it’s free, and that’s what matters. JOKES. But it should be fun. Hope all is good in the hood… be in touch peops, good to hear from folks back home. Later
