2012 VMA winners list

The annual MTV VMAs took place at the Staples Center in LA last night. Unfortunately we didn’t have a live stream in South Africa, but if you were able to watch the awards in your part of the world, let us know what the show was like. I hear Rihanna’s performance was superb and a great way to open the show. She performed her song Cockiness alongside A$AP Rocky. Taylor apparently closed the show with her hit, “We Are Never Getting Back Together”, which by that point everyone was like uh, whatevs Taylor imma drink myself stupor… Na’mean ;) Ha! [AUDIO] Interview with Hot Chelle Rae

I recently got to chat to Nashville Tennessee rockers, Hot Chelle Rae, which I did for DStv.com. In case you’re wondering who exactly they are, they’re the guys who brought you the song Tonight Tonight. I had one of those moments when I got an email from my friends at Sony to say I could interview the band. I thought, hmmm what is this, let alone who are they. Needless to say, after a bit of Youtube-ing and Google-ing I got to know them before doing the interview.

I chatted to two members from the group and they were really rad. Very friendly and so grateful to me for taking the time out to interview them, really? Here are a bunch of guys who were nominated for an American Music Award, a band who have shared the stage with Taylor Swift and who have worked with (former) Disney star, Demi Lovato thanking me. Nice man.

Have a listen to the interview below:

Their album, Whatever is now in stores. It’s a good pop record that is bound to get you in the party mood… Listen to it while you’re getting ready or sipping on some tasty beverage at pre-drinks :)

Disney star Demi Lovato checks into rehab

As part of my routine each morning, I get up, have my coffee and log onto Twitter just to see what’s going on. This morning I came across the sad news that Disney star Demi Lovato had voluntarily checked herself into rehab. The 18-year-old suffers from an eating disorder and it’s also believed she cuts herself. The star has been on tour with the Jonas Brothers, but pulled out at the weekend. She was then admitted to an undisclosed facility. A statement was released by one of her representatives stating:

“Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help. She is doing just that. Demi and her family ask that the media respect her privacy during this difficult time.”

Shame this is difficult and I wish her a full and speedy recovery- and good for her for taking the action and responsibility to get back on track!
