MTN SAMA 19 – First list of winners for 2013

Riot, Zahara
The 19th edition of the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) has arrived. The technical, non-broadcast or as host for the evening Tumi Morake said, the Tumi Show awards, were held in the Sun City resort on Friday evening. Have you downloaded your favourite Sing’it songs yet?

The Sing’it lyrics competition is drawing to a close and to send off this first for South Africa, the ultimate lyrics champ will be allocated a budget to make his or her song into a music video. This video will be made possible by MK, channel 324 on DStv.

Over 1600 entries were received during the first phase of the competition. It was then up to some of SA’s most loved talents to decide who would make it through to the recording stages. The judges in question included Karen Zoid, Jax Panik, DJ Cleo, Dans Dans Lisa, Bittereinder, iScream & the Chocolate Stix, Niskerone & SFR, Dance, You’re on Fire and HHP. You can hear all the songs they selected here. The person who gets the most downloads wins, so have a listen to the tracks and make sure you download your favourite. Who knows, maybe they’ll let you have a cameo in the video too ;)
