Want tickets to Channel O’s O-Sessions?

I’ve been asked on numerous occasions if I can hook people up with tickets to events and/or concerts to which I often respond, do I look like Computicket? That is generally the case, but this time I can hook you up. Channel O on DStv has a new show coming up. It’s called O-Sessions. It’s an intimate gathering of fans and some of SA’s biggest names in music. Artists like Jozi, Slikour and Pro will all be part of the line-up and I have no doubt in my mind that more of these events will be coming up soon.

So the good news is I have four double tickets for the recording of Pro and Jozi’s performances next Thursday. The first two recordings will be held at the Red Pepper Studios in Johannesburg on Thursday the 17th. So if you’re not in Jozi, but you’re keen to be apart of this, please note you need to make your own way up here. For the rest of y’all, drop me your deets below or drop me a tweet @JasonVonBerg (full name, contact number and email address) and who you would like to see… Jozi or Pro. Simple as that. Support local music and be apart of their story!

Jesse Clegg kicks of live music career

He is fast becoming a household name in the South African music industry and I really and truely believe he has an international appeal too. I’m talking about Jesse Clegg, the two-time SAMA nominated star. He kicked off his live music career last week at the Nelson Mandela Theatre in Braamfontein and I think he did an awesome job. Check out the video above by my colleague Paul Takahashi and be sure to get your hands on a copy of Jesse‘s debut album When I Wake Up, in stores now.

Amy pleads not guilty

REUTERS
Soul singer Amy Winehouse, fresh from St Lucia, says she ain’t guilty and does not wish to be incarcerated like her soon-to-be-ex Blake. The 25-year-old told the City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court that she did not assault one of her fans at a party last September- and is in fact not guilty of the common assault that she’s been accused of. According to The Associated Press Wino’s lawyer, Mark Haslam, apologised for her late arrival. She’d apparently left her home two hours before her court appearance, but she’d been delayed. Maybe the paps got in her way… she did seem to be loving the media attention she got, smiling away and posing for them before going inside. The case has been postponed until the 23rd of July.

It seems like the move from Camden to North London is doing Amy the world of good (for now). According to her official site, she’s gearing up for a busy Summer, working on her third album and gigging at several gigs around the UK. Nice Wino, hope the ‘Rehab’ singer has cleaned herself up a bit. Oh just had a thought. How entertaining would it be to have Amy opening for Michael Jackson…. “thank you, my Blake… I love you, I really really love you”. Between the weave and the plastic, that could be well entertaining!!! I would definitely find a way to get to that show
