Brand new videos from Cheryl Cole and Locnville

So yesterday I brought you the first single from South African musical outfit Locnville and it just so happens that their new single music video was (at the same time) being uploaded to Youtube. Check it out above. These boys are gonna blow up this year and I reckon they have international appeal too so stay tuned.

Then check out Brit singer Cheryl Cole’s new video below. It’s the follow up to “Fight For This Love” off her number one album “3 Words”. The song sees her teaming up with BEP star Will.i.am (again- first time for his song Heartbreaker) on this track.

On a side note, did anyone in Cape Town spot Ms Cole partying it up this December? The singer, who is married to soccer star Ashley Cole will be back in the country come the World Cup, but she was jamming it up and apparently looking for the hot spots for her and the other WAGS come June!

Jay-Z wants Cheryl Cole

Former Girls Aloud star, Cheryl Cole has enjoyed the view from the top of the UK charts with both her single “Fight For This Love” and her debut solo album, “3 Words”. The album was produced by BEP star, Will.i.am and now she’s caught the eye of yet another star producer. That in Jay-Z. The mogul wants to help her crack the US market and with his track record, that is most certainly possible.

According to the Daily Mirror, a source tells them, “Cheryl is the biggest fan of Jay-Z and Beyoncé. To hear the feeling is mutual has totally made her year. She never imagined her album would have taken off like this. To get Jay-Z’s support is beyond her wildest dreams.”

Brit Awards

Got to love South African TV sometimes, I went through all the channels in the hopes of catching some of the Brit Awards and there was nothing. So I’m relying on anyone who did have a chance to watch the show, to share your thoughts with the rest of us. A big up to Duffy who walked away with three awards and to the Kings Of Leon, who grabbed two awards. Below is a complete list of the winners:

British Female Solo Artist
Duffy

International Female Solo Artist
Katy Perry

British Breakthrough Act

Brit Awards tonight

The annual Brit Awards take place tonight. The awards started out at the Wembley Stadium in 1977 and have grown considerably in the subsequent years. On the official website they have this really interactive timeline of the awards, so check it out here

Now it’ll be interesting to see if the UK music industry/ judges have similar tastes to that of the American market. ie will Coldplay and Adele win big like they did at the Grammys? Duffy is hugely popular in the UK, so will she perhaps take the Best Breakthrough artist and the Best Single category? And will she surprise everyone and beat out the likes of Coldplay in the Best Album category? Take That made a great comeback recently with the release of their latest album ‘Circus’, so they’re a band to look out for. Continue reading
