2012 MTV Movie Award nominees

If you had to pin Harry Potter against Twilight, I’d give Twilight the advantage. It would be a tough battle, but sadly the vampires would come out victorious thanks to Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Now put Twilight up against an original, dark, but very enthralling film called The Hunger Games… The victor would no doubt be the latter, with Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss Everdeen) and the rest of her cast mates… Well if MTV is anything to go by. The film scored a whopping eight nominations – and rightfully so. Nice. Check out the full list of nominees below:

DStv launches BoxOffice

I’m very excited about this. DStv launched the much anticipated, internally at least, BoxOffice. The Video-on-Demand service will give premium subscribers the opportunity to rent their favourite Hollywood blockbusters. 15 titles will be on the PVR decoders from today and subscribers will be able to rent the movie for R25. This is great news for those who love movies. The DVD stores are great but the hassle of driving there and back, the possibility of fines being a reality and the fact that many of the titles are usually out is also a given most times. With BoxOffice that wont be the case. There is a lot of research that goes into the the titles that appear on the box and they’re fresh off the circuit, so this is great. Read the official press release below and happy watching this weekend.
