Last year I had the privilege of visiting the quaint and awesome town of Knysna as part of the build to the annual Knysna Festival. I had such a great time there and at that stage I said I’d go down this year for the actual festival. I thought let me get my running on and while I’m down there I could do the 21km. Unfortunately I wont be doing the run anymore, nor will I be heading down to Knysna, but next year it’s on. That’s for sure.
That aside, the festival is on and this year they’re going digital. The festival organisers have launched a very user-friendly app as part of Pick n Pay’s Goodness Campaign. The app has replaces the booklet and it is part of an ongoing effort to a paper-free festival. It can be downloaded on various devices including BlackBerry, Android, iPhones and iPads. The app provides all the necessary information needed to enjoy the festival and its various offering including directions, events, the festival schedule, news and competitions
So if you’re heading down to Knysna, be sure to get this app. Good luck to all the runners. How do you spell FOMO? J.A.S.O.N

Co-founder of Apple and former CEO Steve Jobs has died. He was 56. Jobs left an indelible mark on the world of technology. Being the head of one of the largest and most technically-advanced, forward thinking corporates in the world, and what he achieved for that company is nothing short of astounding. For me, as I sit here typing this blog post, I’m using my Macbook Pro 13″. My 15″ is next to that and my iPod is on charge so that I can use it for gym later. We can thank him for some of the most innovative, powerful and yet so magical products. I’m truly grateful for that and I have the utmost respect for his vision, his perseverance, persistence and continual drive create and pioneer. This visionary innovator will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences go out to his family today. RIP Steve Jobs, iSad.
If you’re not using an iPhone chances are you’re on a BlackBerry (like me). I think I’d be officially lost without mine, but that isn’t the purpose of this post. What you’re probably more interested in is BlackBerry’s first Secret Gig. The gig will be held next weekend in a secret venue in Johannesburg and it’ll feature Hip Hop superstar Tinie Tempah.
He’ll be jetting in next Saturday for the performance and I’m told he’s shooting out the next day, so this is big, exclusive and you will want to be part of it. Here’s how:
Listen to 5FM’s Grant and Anele between 12-3 everyday until the 7th of this month. You’ll need to listen out for the Broadcast my Life feature and add them on BBM: 231ACB18. You could win yourselves one of two Superfan VIP packages to the gig. This includes a shuttle to and from the secret venue, a meet and greet opportunity, accommodation and of course of tickets to the all important and exclusive party. Nice hey! If you’re outside of Jozi, you will win a return ticket too.
The competition runs until 8 September 2011 and only 500 people will be there. Don’ be like me and miss out on this party. It’s going to be insane!
