2013 Oscar nominations out today

Awards seasons rolls on. Today we found out who and which films will score nominations for this year’s Academy Awards. The nominations will be hosted by actress Emma Stone (who I think should host the show) and then this year’s host Seth MacFarlane.

See how Seth broke the news about him hosting the awards above.

I haven’t seen many of these films but from what I’ve seen online, these are the films I reckon will score big come 15:30 (CAT):

Argo

Les Miserables

Lincoln

Life of Pi

I know that this year’s awards will honour Bond… James Bond and the franchise, so expect some skits at the opening of MacFarlane doing some tribute to the Bond stars throughout the years. I’m sure Skyfall will also be nominated in some of the categories.

As far as the actors and actresses go, I’m not even going to attempt a guess here, but if you have any ideas, do share them.

I’ll have more on the nominations a little later.

Listen to Adele: Skyfall

The countdown to the new James Bond film is on… and one way to get us excited for the film’s release is by listening to Skyfall’s official theme song. It’s by the lovely Adele. Listen to it above. On being enlisted to do the song, Adele says,  “I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for Skyfall. There’s a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song.  But I fell in love with the script and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end. It was also a lot of fun writing to a brief, something I’ve never done, which made it exciting. When we recorded the strings it was one of the proudest moments of my life. I’ll be back combing my hair when I’m 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day I’m sure!”

I love it, love it, love it. She has the perfect voice for this. Oozes class, power and elegance. Dig it. What do you think?

The new installment of the James Bond franchise hits the circuit today. It’s called The Quantum Of Solace is the 22nd James Bond film and it again stars Daniel Craig. The film was released in the US last week and to date has made in over $63million at the box office, this despite the fact that it hasn’t received the greatest reviews. To celebrate the new Bond film, there’s a new album that has hit the cd shelves called “The Best Of Bond”. Continue reading
