Last week the Vitamin Water peops on Twitter alluded to the fact that one of the world’s leading DJs, David Guetta, was on his way to South Africa. I knew it, but they wouldn’t confirm. Obviously.
Well now I can confirm that the DJ will be jetting into SA this November for a series of gigs in and around the country. This is great news and long overdue. He was in the country a few years back and ever since he has been promising to come back. BOOM. He’s on his way folks and it’s gonna be massive… and I’m told Akon is coming too (again).
More deets to follow
David Guetta is one of the biggest names in music. His last album One Love sold millions of copies worldwide and now he’s back with a brand new offering (a double-disc) called Nothing But The Beat. I’ve heard a couple of tracks, which feature the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg and Usher to name a few and I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy to hear the rest. Once I do the review will follow shortly.
The purpose of this post one of a speculative nature. The good people from glaceau_vitaminwater posted a Tweet earlier saying “david guetta is… ?”
Here’s how the conversation went:
You’ll see they say they “cannot confirm nor deny the rumours”… So can we say it’s safe to assume a tour to SA from one of the world’s leading DJs is on the cards? FOR SURE!
I’m waiting for feedback from his label. Let’s see.
Na Na Na Na Na come on… Rihanna getting Loud and looking gorgeous on the cover of the US version of Vogue for their April edition. Love her and speaking of love, you’ll get to see the lovely Jennifer Hudson on the cover of Essence magazine next month too:

The article makes reference to everything she has been through in recent times, from becoming a mom, to dropping 80 pounds, to playing Winnie in the upcoming biopic about the controversial former first lady of South Africa to the release of her sophomore album ‘I Remember Me’, due out next week.
Nice work ladies. Both are looking great!
AR Rahman, Florence Welsch and Gwyneth Paltrow perform the last two tracks nominated in the Best Song categories. The first one is “If I Rise” is from the film “127 Hours,” Music by A.R. Rahman. Lyric by Dido and Rollo Armstrong.
The second track is called “Coming Home” from “Country Strong,” Music and Lyric by Tom Douglas, Troy Verges and Hillary Lindsey. Nice Gwyneth!
Jennifer Hudson then presents the award for Best Original song to Randy Newman for “We Belong Together” from “Toy Story 3,”
“I’m very grateful and surprised. My odds aren’t great. I’ve been nominated twenty times, and won twice.”
Michelle Williams and Amy Adams are looking really good tonight. Michelle is nominated in this Best Actress in a Leading Role category. She’s wearing Chanel tonight.
Mandy Moore is getting loads of rav reviews for her dress by Monqiue Lhuillier.
Mark Ruffalo just chatted to E’s Ryan Seacreast. Besides taking pictures for Twitter, he said his wife actually convinced him to take the role in The Kids Are All Right. Good work wifey, it scored him an Academy Award nomination.
Best Supporting Actor nominee Geoffrey Rush on The King’s Speech “I think this should be a film and not a play. We put the wheels into motion and it seems as though all the right people drifted towards the project. It fell into place in a rather beautiful way”.
Just seen Scarlett Johansson looking beautiful in her plum dress by Dolce & Gabbana.
Grammy award-winner LL Cool J introduces the first performance of the night and that is of course a fitting tribute to the queen of soul, Aretha Franklin. Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride, Christina Aguilera, Yolanda Adams and Florence Welsche are all paying tribute to the star. What a great way to kick of the show and a talented group… wow!
In Aretha Franklin’s recorded video interview she thanks the ladies for their performance, “Thank you ladies. I love you all.” She also thanked everyone for their well wishes during her hospitalization and she promises to be at next year’s awards. Good. Can’t wait to see her back on the Grammy stage.
Best Pop performance by a duo or a group is presented by the group:
Train- Hey Soul Sister
“Thanks Justin Bieber for not being a duo or a group. It’s so great to be back and there is so much that has happened in the past. Thanks to our fans”
Other people I’ve seen on the red carpet include Nicki Minaj wearing Givenchy and looking like a character out of the Flintsones, Ciara, La Roux, Jennifer Hudson, Melanie Fiona and Bruno Mars. LL Cool J, “We’re just greatful. We’re just trying to have fun,” on the success of his hit series NCIS.
Jennifer Hudson on being at the awards, “I am good, I’m excited and it just feels good to be here”. She’s wearing Versace – absolutely gorgeous. On paying homage to the great Aretha Franklin she said, “It’s so exciting to pay tribute to Aretha Franklin. I’m a huge fan”.
Disney star and Justin Bieber’s ver good friend (cough) Selena Gomez on her dress, “It’s gold and I feel like an award”. She’s presenting an award tonight. Rapper Drake is here with his mom tonight. She is very open minded and respects his craft. That’s really sweet, even if his lyrics are a bit dirty at times.
John Mayer looks like he has some Johnny Depp influence tonight Anyone else notice that? John Legend looked swave as per usual and Swizz Beatz was channeling his inner leopard, like Nicki Minaj. What’s up with the leopard print btw? Ricky Martin is there too. He’s presenting an award tonight and was telling mr Seacrest that’ll he’ll be embarking on a world tour soon. Does he have new music out on the scene?
Kim Kardashian has arrived looking gorgeous. She said, “I’m like a bronze trophy now. The look works for you Kimmy. Good work KaufmanFranco.
Willow Smith is very excited about ‘whipping her hair back and forth’ and the couples, Marc Anthony, JLo and Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are exchanging kisses and hugs. Aah bless. Happy Hollywood! Adam Lambert has begun work on his second album. His first album, For Your Entertainment is really strong, so I’m keen to see what he has in store for us with his sophomore album due out later this year.
Katy Perry, hubby Russell and grandma have all just arrived. Katy’s wearing wings? That’s a bit odd I feel. All three of them are all wearing Armani. They look good barring the wings… Rihanna’s designer of choice is Jean Paul Gautier. She has already won an award tonight for her track (Only Girl) In The World. Her voice sounds a little gruff, after suffering a bout of laryngitis this week. Hopefully her performance with Drake and Eminem will go off without a hitch.

Britney Spears will release her highly anticipated album titled, Femme Fatale on the 29th of March. This is her seventh studio album and is said to be one of the biggest releases of the year. We’ve heard the first single, Hold It Against me and now we’ll get to see the video to that smash hit. It’ll release simultaneously on MTV, VEVO and britney.com on the 17th of February. Here’s a little teaser to the video:
All I’m going to say is that it’ll be hot! Very very hot!

Academy and Grammy-winning star Jennifer Hudson is also prepping for the release of her new album. This is the follow up to the hugely successful, self-titled album in 2008. I feel she won’t be feeling that notorious sophomore album slump with this one. In the three years since that release, she’s been through a lot. For one, she tragically lost her mother, brother and nephew in a senseless slaying. I won’t forget the moment she returned to the Spotlight, so to speak, by performing the track You Pulled Me Through at the 2009 Grammy Awards. That was one of the most moving performances I’ve ever seen, wow. Watch it below. She also became a mother and she’s lost a huge amount of weight. She looks incredible and you can see that in the album cover picture above, which she posted onto Twitter last night. Incredible! I Remember Me will be released on the 22nd of March.

Yes please. How’s this for good news and an awesome way to start your Tuesday. Grammy and Academy Award winner, Jennifer Hudson is set to release her sophomore album on the 22nd of March. It’s called I Remember Me. The album title is based on a poem written by Jennifer and composed into a beautiful song co-written by Ryan Tedder of One Republic fame, which will feature on the album. She’s also worked with the likes of Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo, Swizz Beatz and Stargate on this one
“I’m excited about this album because it’s almost like a renewal for me, reflected through the chapters of my life,” says Jennifer. “I’ve called it ‘I Remember Me’ because of the journey I’ve been on. I’ve learned that life constantly surprises you, no matter your plans. My fans have been so loyal, I feel like they have been on this journey with me and I can’t wait for them to hear the new album.”
Have a listen to the first single Where You At below. It was written and produced by R Kelly and it hit the airwaves and Internet yesterday. She can’t do anything wrong and Clive Davis of Sony Music Entertainment agrees, “Jennifer is the voice of the new generation and she literally soars on her second album ‘I Remember Me.’ Jennifer fulfills all of her promise and all of the prophesies that she will be on that short list of great vocalists of our time.” I doubt there will be that notorious sophomore slump for Ms Hudson when she releases this album. Can’t wait to hear it. For more on the album, check out here official website
