Rihanna, Nicki lead American Music Awards nominations

The 40th anniversary of the American Music Awards will be celebrated in true style this year – that if the list of nominees for this year is anything to go by.  Nicki Minaj and Rihanna lead the pack with four nominations each. Other big nominees include Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, One Direction and Katy Perry.

Already confirmed to perform at the awards is Ms. Christina Aguilera, who no doubt will be bumping off a few guys… if her latest video, Your Body is anything to go by ;) More performers will be added to the list in the build up to the awards on the 18th of November.

Countdown to Katy Perry: Part Of Me 3D

Next week Katy Perry makes her movie debut. It’s called Katy Perry: Part Of Me 3D and its set to be one of the big blockbusters of 2012. Will it live up to everyone’s expectations? Well with 75million records sold worldwide, there is no doubt in my mind that she will hit number one. In the film we get to see more than just what we see on stage. We get to see Katy as a young blonde girl. We get to see her rise to fame and of course we get to see and hear more about her marriage and subsequent divorce to Russel Brand.

There are two things I’d like to raise here. One is this, I watched this report by ABC News and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is the sort of media work I intend on doing as I progress in this industry. It’s fun, but it’s cleverly crafted and well produced. Nice work ABC News. Secondly I like this trend of singers making films about their lives and their rise to fame. The other day there was literally nothing to watch on TV except Justin Bieber‘s Never Say Never film. While I’m not his demographic and therefore not such a fan, I’ve always respected the star. I reluctantly settled in to watch the film and after ten minutes I was hooked. It’s incredible to see how far he has come, how long his journey to becoming the Bieber we know him to be was (despite his age) and how talented he really is. I feel we’re going to see something very similar with Katy Perry.

As for love, does she still believe in it? “Of course. I’m going to let love lead the way and I think I will stick to it. So yes.” Love you Katy ;)

It might not be as big as Snow White and the Huntman or The Avengers, but Katy Perry’s 3D movie will be a big hit for her nonetheless. The poster for the film has just been released. Don’t you love it? Looking forward to seeing the film. To coincide with the release, the star recently released her new single called Wide Awake. Check it out below:

Watch the Katy Perry film trailer

I’m a big fan of the lovely Ms. Katy Perry. The star has stacked up the accolades, the number ones and the millions of dollars. Now she’s stepping into the movie world, well sort of. The star will release her 3D movie on the 5th of July. The film goes behind the scenes of her recent California Dreams Tour which included 124 performances and everything in between there. Check out the trailer above and let me know what you think. Will you be heading off to see the film?

Watch: Katy Perry’s “Part Of Me” video

Check out the new video from the swaggerlicious Katy Perry. It’s called Part of Me. The track hit Billboard’s number 1 spot recently. Now the video is finally out and it has already been viewed over half a million times. Winning. Love your work Katy.

Grammys 2012 – Adele cleans up with Album of the Year

Lifetime Achievement recipient Diana Ross presented the award for Album of the Year to Adele. Her album 21 has sold in excess of six million copies worldwide and deservedly so. The album is incredible and so if you don’t have it, go and get a copy. Right now… go on. Here’s what she had to say:

“Aah. Thank you so much. First of all, girl did good. Mom I love you. I’m sorry you’re not here. I also want to thank Rick Reuben for teaching me about quality control and really put me and taught me about what I really wanted to be. He made me realise stuff I didn’t ever think I would. This record is inspired by something by something really normal and everyone has been through it… just a rubbish relationship. And it’s gone on to do things that I can’t tell you I ever thought it would. It’s been the most life changing year. I want to thank my record companies Columbia and Excel Records Nick Hugger who signed me and all my band. My crew, my family, my manager Jonathan, my mum… and all you lot. Thank you so much.”
