Kanye West heading back to SA with Castle Lite

In case you missed the news earlier today, rapper Kanye West is heading back to SA. The award winner will be heading out as part of the Caste Lite Feel the beat of the Sub-Zero experience. He’ll perform in February next year. You might recall that las year the Castle Lite crew brought out Drake for a once off performance. The event was such a success, so why not bring one of the biggest names in the for the second campaign.

Tickets go on sale on the 28th of this month. Note they’re very limited and the gig venue will onl be revealed closer to the time. Read the full press release below:

He is one of the most awarded artists of all-time; a musical genius whose lyrics have become the soundtrack of our generation. Infamous for shattering stereotypes, Kanye West needs little introduction, and his legions of South African fans will be able to experience his music live in a winter wonderland like no other.

With a name meaning ‘Only One’ in Swahili, Kanye will be hitting the stage as the headline act for one unforgettable night at an exclusive and intimate Castle Lite Feel the Beat of Sub-zero Experience on the 2nd of February 2013 in Joburg. Now into its second year, this experience will allow 6 000 guests to live and breathe the invigorating effect of Castle Lite’s extra cold refreshment for an ‘ICE’ moment to remember in a distinctive glacial setting.

Guests will be able to enjoy a mind-blowing experience and engage with Castle Lite on an exuberant level through live acts and innovative touch points. Some of Africa’s leading performers and DJ’s will be performing before Kanye hits the stage.

RIP Nate Dogg

Rapper Nate Dogg has died. According to TMZ, the 41 year old, had been battling with his health for several years. In 2007 the star suffered a stroke and suffered yet another one in 2008. The cause of death is yet to be determined, but as more information becomes available I’ll keep you posted. Here’s one of his famous tracks, which he did with Warren G:

So last week, whilst in London I got to check out US rapper, Flo Rida at the O2 Arena. Digged it, really cool concert. In addition to that concert though, I got the opportunity to interview him in Birmingham the next day. What an awesome dude, very cool, calm and actually rather quiet too. I think he’s a bit shy, but the interview went well and he was more then happy to pose for photos with myself and my friend & travel partner Melanie.

Now the first single off the album is called D.O.A – Death Of Auto-Tune. The music mogul is making a massive statement by commenting on the current state of hip-hop and how many of the genres stars at the moment are making ‘bumblegum pop that they call HIP HOP” through the use of the auto-tune.
