I caught this video on SABC 1′s LIVE last Friday and I really dig it. It’s the new single and video for SAMA winning star LeAnne. Very nice track and the video is done so nicely. Very impressed!

9 hosts for this year’s SAMAs
It was announced late last night that there will be nine hosts at this year’s South African Music Awards. The awards are set to take place at the Sun City resort in the North West Province this Sunday and Monday. So who are the nine? Pabi Moloi, Unathi Msengana, the original Idols winner Heinz Winkler, Sizwe Dhlomo, Zonke, Swazi Dlamini, Kabelo Mabalane and Jen Su. One more name will be released soon… the big question is, who will it? I say B for Bonang… let’s see what happens.
On the decision to have nine hosts, SAMAs CEO Randall Abrahams said “We have decided to reach for the stars – literally and figuratively – at MTN SAMA 18. Whereas in the past the awards only featured one or two hosts, this year we are significantly upping the star-power quota of the hosts, presenters and performers to dazzle the audience at the Superbowl as well as the millions of viewers glued to their TV sets at home.”
The main awards ceremony, on Monday 30 April, will be televised live on SABC1 from 8.30pm and will be streamed live via the website (www.samusicawards.co.za), the mobisite (www.mtnsamatv.mobi) and the MTN SAMA Facebook page (www.facebook.com/samusicawards).
OH WAIT!!!! I know who the other host is…. It’s really cool, bizarre and quite off the wall but it’s fun! I’m sure you’ll love it… Here’s a hint, it’s legendary!

SAMA nominations day
Today South Africa’s musicians find out if they’re on the list of nominees up for a coveted South African Music Award. The SAMAs are heading back to Sun City this year, thank goodness. The awards ceremony will be held over two days, 29th and 30th of April. In addition to a more refined list of categories, this year’s awards will be organised by the revered Randall Abrahams. No room for messing around or stuff ups, well if Randall has anything to do with it.
I’m heading off to the Turbin Hall in just a bit to find out who the nominees for this year’s awards are. I’ll get that list up on here as soon as I can. I can’t wait.
