After a performance by Lady Antebellum, Miley Cyrus and the Kings of Leon presented the award for the Best Country album to Lady Antebellum:

Jamie Foxx introduces Cee Lo Green and special guest Gwyneth Paltrow. They performed Cee Lo’s track forget you on what looks like the set of Sesame Street or the Muppets. A super performance by them two. I’m still at a bit of a loss as to why Gwyneth was asked to be the person to collaborate with him, but for the purposes it worked.
So many of you will know that I’m a big fan of Nelly Furtado. Have been since her “I’m like a bird” days. I saw her take a completely different musical journey on her sophomore album ‘Folklore’ and I watched her let it all “Loose,” jamming opposite Timbaland and JT in “Promiscuous” & “Say It Right”. And now I’m listening to her first Spanish album, Mi Plan. Love it… well the sound. To be honest I have no idea what she’s singing about (note to self, take those Spanish lessons) but there’s something so intriguing about the Spanish culture, the music and the people. I be loving it! So above you will see the second single off the album called “Mas” and lucky for us English speakers, there are subtitles Enjoy!

Colbie Calilat- Breakthrough. What a breakthrough indeed. Moving 106 000 copies in its first week, this marks Colbie’s first number 1. Nice one!

David Guetta – One Love. Guetta has sold 16 000 copies in South Africa alone. This album is fantastic. Each song has a different store, yet the same party flavour. It features collaborations with the likes of Ne-Yo, Estelle, Kelly Rowland, Apple de Ap, Will.i.am and Akon. If you’re in the Southern hemisphere, you’ll know it’s getting warmer so go out and get yourself a copy of this album. You will not be disappointed.

Michael Jackson- Number Ones. This comes as no surprise to me. It jumped a massive 120 spots, from 121 to number 1 for the late, great Michael Jackson.
Nokia Music Store Number 1 Album: Transformers – Revenge of the Fallen. New number 1 album. Anyone seen the movie to accompany the soundtrack? I’ve heard it’s not great, but open to hearing your thoughts on the movie…

The peops at NMS told me something interesting. Apparently out of top 10 selling singles, five of them are local. Great work South Africa, supporting our local stars. Nice one.
So Eminem got Bruno’s ass to the face at the MTV Movie Awards, but I’m sure he doesn’t care. The rapper is celebrating his number one glory in both the UK and the USA, so let’s check out the first single off the album Relapse. It’s called “We Made You” and in true Eminem fashion, he takes the piss out of Amy Winehouse, Jessica Simpson and others. Check it out:
