The Cameron, The Chad back in SA on Thursday

Our golden boys, Cameron van der Burgh and Chad Le Clos are expected to arrive back in SA on Thursday morning. Their arrival time is 07:30 and while that might be early for most, seeing as though it’s a public holiday, their performances in London for the Olympic Games definitely warrants it. I know a lot of women will be there to welcome them back, but guys, lets show our support too yeah?

Here’s the media alert I’ve just received. Hope to see you there:

Chad Le Clos wins a gold medal in London

Another night… another gold for South Africa. This time it came from 20-year old Chad Le Clos. Chad pulled off a magical win in last night’s 200m Butterfly final, beating out race favourite Michael Phelps by 0.05 of a second. Crazy man!

So proud and happy for him. The commentators for the race seemed to focus more of their attention on they fact that this was a disappointment for Phelps, who had lost out to Le Clos by a simple fault on his behalf. It pissed me off, but hey… bottom line is Chad won. Fair and square and the gold is his. Phelps handled it well and as the most successful Olympian ever (15 golds and a total of 19 medals), it shows how much of a good sport he is. He tweeted, “Can’t express enough about the amazing swim the @LeClos_Swim had tonight in the 200fly!! Well done kid!!!”
