Here’s a new single from internationally acclaimed, South African singer-songwriter Arno Carstens. It’s called Heartbreak Monday and it’s taken off his new album called ‘Wonderful Wild’. The video was shot on location in London and directed by Gary Elder. As for the song? Well it was co-written by a guy I think is one of the best in the game, Paolo Nutini (his album went to number 1 in the U.K.) So let’s see if this single will get to the top of the charts like many are predicting… In fact this single has been tipped to be “A song of the summer” for the UK. Nice one Arno!
Interesting… a rapper who has been shot nine times and it probably one of the most street wise peops around has praised the quiet 48-year-old overnight success that is Susan Boyle. Speaking to The Daily Mirror, 50 said, “Susan Boyle is hot right now. I got to get her on a track, for real. We’d make a hit. Everyone is talking about her, the lady from Britain’s Got Talent. She’s got an amazing voice, and together we’d get everyone dancing. I’m always looking to do something new and she’s cool, so I’ll ask somebody to let her know. I’d love to take her clubbing, show her around my world. She’d have a great time.”
Go SuBo, it’s your birthday… ya know the rest. Now close your eyes peops, imagine SuBo in a music video with 50, bumping and grinding, with her cap shifted to the right singing yeah yeah, you know what it is, it’s SuBo and 50 making sweet music and stuff. Gosh I can’t rap to save my life, best leave it to 50!

Former Girls Aloud star, Cheryl Cole has enjoyed the view from the top of the UK charts with both her single “Fight For This Love” and her debut solo album, “3 Words”. The album was produced by BEP star, Will.i.am and now she’s caught the eye of yet another star producer. That in Jay-Z. The mogul wants to help her crack the US market and with his track record, that is most certainly possible.
According to the Daily Mirror, a source tells them, “Cheryl is the biggest fan of Jay-Z and Beyoncé. To hear the feeling is mutual has totally made her year. She never imagined her album would have taken off like this. To get Jay-Z’s support is beyond her wildest dreams.”
“I Dreamed a Dream” is the title of the global phenomenon that is Susan Boyle’s debut album. Earlier this year she shot to fame when she performed her version of Les Miserables hit, “I Dreamed A Dream” on the reality show, Britain’s Got Talent. That audition made her an overnight success, with over 300 million hits on youtube. On the album, she worked with the super producer, Steve Mac. The album features songs like ‘Cry me a River’ and several covers from the likes of the Rolling Stones and their hit “Wild Horses”, Madonna’s “You’ll See”, The Monkees ‘Daydream Believer’ and “Who I Was Born To Be”. She says, “It was my greatest ambition to release an album and I have finally achieved it. This amazing journey has helped me find my own identity and fulfill my wish. There is happiness out there for everyone who dares to dream.”

The album will be available in November- and has already topped the online charts in the USA with pre-release orders!
One of the best singers to come out of a reality singing contest, Leona Lewis is hard at work putting the finishing touches to her sophomore album. The album, titled “Echo” will be released on the 16th of November. This is the follow up to debut album, “Spirit,” which sold 6 million copies globally and it also scored her several Grammy nominations. One more accolade with this album is that it was the best selling album of 2007 and 2008 in the UK and USA respectively. Big up.
On this album she’s worked with executive producers Simon Cowell again and Clive Davis. David is famous for making several huge stars, including Whitney Houston. As far as songwriters go, she’s worked with Ryan Tedder (one Republic- Bleeding Love writer) and Justin Timberlake… nice one! Visit http://www.leonalewismusic.com for news, updates and more. But for now, here is the first single off the album, “Happy” which she performed recently at America’s Got Talent recently:
WTF is going on with the Sugababes? They’ve one of the longest commercial girl groups around, but they’re also barring Destiny’s Child a band that has lost and subsequently replaced several members. The latest member in the group… Amelle Berrabah, who has also done some solo work. Check it, she actually scored herself a number 1 hit with her collaboration with Tinchy Stryder on the song Never Leave You. Now there’s beef, loads of it. Here’s what’s going on now and doing the rounds n the web:
1. Keisha Buchanan- the only original member is “jealous” of Amelle and Mutya, who are both “more talented”
2. Amelle disappeared for four days claiming a good friend was in an accident and that she was by her friend’s side.
3. Amelle broke up with her BF and is now distraught, a mess
4. Amelle wants to leave the group and go do her solo thing. (She’s been there a minute) She’s apparently since left….
5. Kesha is “bullying” Amelle.
6. Keisha was booted out of the band.
7. Eurovision star Jade Ewen is joining the group
I mean seriously, where do some of these stories come from? This group is cursed it would seem. Here’s a statement from their official site:
The current line-up of the Sugababes has disbanded.
Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah will continue as the Sugababes and will be joined by new member Jade Ewen. They release their album ‘Sweet 7’ on November 23rd through Island Records.
Keisha Buchanan will continue to record for Island Records as a solo artist.”
Perhaps it’s time to call it quits, move on and do something else ladies…All of you.
