So who will ACTUALLY win Idols?

WOW!!! Nobody could’ve ever predicted this, but it’s happened and at 1PM today M-Net will hold a press conference to determine who really is the winner of Idols 2009. In case you missed it a significant number of legitimate SMS votes were received after the 18:05 cut off time. This means either one of two things… 1. Jason ACTUALLY wins or 2. Sasha-Lee will hold onto her title and might even widen the gap in terms of votes. Sjoe how hectic. Here is the official press release:

Friday night SAMA winners

The 15th MTN South African Music Awards weekend kicked off last night at Sun City with a lavish gala evening. Those involved with more of the technical side of the music from the year, were honoured at the awards, which was hosted by Loyiso Bala and Andile Ncube. I wasn’t there unfortunately, but I will be tonight so stay tuned for all the glitz and glam from the yellow carpet, as well as all the winners in the major categories. Here are the winners from last night’s event:

Grammy winners

South Africa’s Ladysmith Black Mambazo have won the Grammy for Ilembe: Honoring Shaka Zulu. Still no word if the group were there to accept the award, but congratulations to them… fantastic news. Unfortunately The Soweto Gospel Choir unfortunately haven’t been lucky enough to win this time round, but they did play a part in Peter Gabriel’s song Down To Earth from the film Wall-E and he won in the Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media
